Okay, hate is a strong word, so instead of using it I must resort to quoting the band The Plain White T’s in saying, “Hate is a strong word, but I really really really don’t like you . . . .”  That’s right, Sean, I’m talking to you (lol if he read my blog I’d gush . . . geez – the way I’ve been neglecting this blog, I’d gush if ANYONE stumbled upon it!).

When I’m driving home and I’m bored, and I’m looking for “entertainment” I put on the Sean Hannity radio show . . . I don’t do it to listen to what he has to say – for godssake I know what he’s going to say . . . it’s the same old right-wing rhetoric every-fucking-day – I don’t tune in for that.  I tune in to hear the new ways Sean finds to get out of responding to people who call up with differing views and valid counter-points.  It’s actually quite interesting . . . .

The other day, Sean spent a great part of one phone call talking about the caller’s famous BBQ restaurant in Georgia (apparently he’s a frequent caller, and they know each other)  – which is all well and good – they seemed to like each other and free advertising is great for anyone!  But when it came time to talk about health-care, Hannity exclaimed his desire to debate the caller . . . let me repeat the important word here:  DEBATE . . . so the caller went on to make his point, which, was a damn good one that I happen to agree with, but of course, Hannity didn’t like it . . . he cut the caller off (interrupting is what he’s great at!) and lambasted him for “demonizing” health-care companies (oh because they’re soooooooooooo innocent!!) and insinuated the caller meant something other than what he actually said . . . I was outraged, and was desperately waiting for the caller to correct Sean and clearly make his point for the second time, but every time the caller tried to say something Sean just talked louder, eventually hanging up on the guy because he just HAD to go to break – oh – how convenient . . . the guy had a different opinion than Sean, and he stated it, so Sean brought up points to discredit the guy and ended up finding any reason to get him off the phone, leaving the caller no time to debate . . . I’ve heard this happen more times than I can count, and I fucking hate it.  The “debate” never happened.  It’s as one-sided as it gets on the Sean Hannity show.  Oh, but there was plenty of time to talk about BBQ . . . .

Today, I was in a parking lot, parked (that’s important, and you’ll soon find out why) and a guy called up stating how he feels conservative republicans spend so much time caring about “pro-life” when it comes to babies, but don’t care about “pro-life” when it comes to people that are already living – so – for instance – in terms of health care – Hannity would back a health care plan that keeps millions of Americans uncovered . . . so if they were to get sick and die . . . oh well . . . they’re not unborn babies . . . so what does it matter!?  But I digress a bit . . . the caller’s point was that Hannity needed to be more balanced (oh, that’s a wild notion!) when he calls out Democrats for being “pro-choice” in the abortion issue, but not in other issues . . . while Republicans are pro-life in the abortion arena, but not in others . . . let’s just say directly after the caller made this great point the very clear station, which was coming through on a very clear signal, suddenly crapped out rendering any words that were said to utter mush . . . now, at first I thought it was the caller’s cell phone sucking at life, but not even Hannity’s voice was coming through . . . by the time Sean’s voice came through clear and true, the caller was gone and Hannity moved on to the next topic . . . mmmmm . . . keep in mind – I was PARKED – so it wasn’t my reception that suddenly went bad . . . could something technical have gone wrong?  Absolutely, but I highly doubt it . . . especially from someone (Hannity) who has been known to present one “truth” in spite of the actual truth . . . fair and balanced my ass.

Tom, the point of the pro-life thing is we don’t have people dying in the streets because they lack health care. Anyone can go to any Hospital if they are in dire need of care and aren’t rejected because of lack of insurance. Is this the best way to do it? No, of course not but the concept that will have millions of people dying because of lack of coverage is completely false. In addition the cuts to medicaid and medicare in the current bill will lead to many seniors dying before they would now. You or anyone else who denies that this current bill wouldn’t lead to a rationing of services well then I’m sorry but you are just not paying close enough attention to what’s going on. That’s not only for medicare or medicaid either, they intend to set rules and limits for private insurers as well. People who worked hard, got themselves jobs with insurance and built a life for themselves do not deserve to have their quality of care lessened in the name of the uninsured. No way, no how, and the citizens of this country will never stand for it. This bills is a complete disgrace and is frankly one of the most unamerican pieces of legislation ever proposed. The proof is in the fact that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have to beg for votes when their own party is in control of the Senate, Congress, and the White House. This is something that would effect every single American with coverage in a negative way; it is a disgrace. Everyone who says they are for it; as soon as it passes will all run to their accountants to figure out how to get out of the taxes it is adding; so really are you for it? Or are people only for it because they don’t realize how it’s going to effect them? When you get a teaching job are you going to be for the tax on your insurance plan when you waited so long and worked so hard to finally get that job? Anyone whose not willing to make a sacrifice out of their own personal life, be it financially, quality of care they and their family receive, or otherwise could not possibly before this. That would be incredibly hypocritical because this bill in essence is telling millions of people to sacrifice what they have to the percentage of uninsured. I do care about people Tom, but I’m also smart enough to now that the opportunity exists for many people have insurance they just choose not too. If they choose not too, the responsibility should not fall on me. If you work in a diner or as a bartender and get paid in cash, (which you don’t report!), then if you want insurance so bad, get a job that offers it. Very few people love their jobs so much they can’t get enough of it, but people keep their jobs for reasons like security and insurance.

When I get a teaching job am I going to be for the tax on my insurance plan when I waited so long and worked so hard to finally get that job? Yeah. Sure. Whatever. Would I have a party over it? Absolutely not. But would I cry and whine about it? Absolutely not. Besides. I get paid by people being taxed . . . .

Anyway, this post was more about Sean Hannity not giving people the chance to speak their mind, and the creative ways he finds to hang up on them . . . conservative repbulicanism is not THE ONLY answer to every damn thing

Maybe this bill is not the answer – most things that come out of D.C. – no matter who’s in charge – is not the answer . . . I just fundamentally believe that all people should have the chance to be covered, where as you are telling me the famous “well go get a job that has healthcare!” – is it really that “simple” ?? I still love the analogy of FedEx vs. U.S. Postal Service and I’m not going to repeat it . . . UPS and Fedex don’t suffer b/c there is a gov’t run postal service . . . . I’m not happy with what’s going on now anyway, and I’m tired of thinking about it lol

And I brought up the pro-life thing b/c too many people in this country freak out and obsess over children that haven’t even been born yet, as opposed to caring about children that are already on this planet and suffering – perhaps due to being born to a poor family in an unfortunate situation . . . oh . . . well . . . it’s their fault for being poor – there are no other factors leading to them being poor “get a job!” – there are so many layers to this, Joe – by the way – I wonder how many die-hard pro-lifers are crying and shedding tears for the amount of children that have died in Iraq . . . I’m just saying . . . at least in this forum Sean Hannity can’t steal my keyboard away from me to stop me from speaking . . . .

Yea, tom UPS and Fed Ex don’t suffer, they also charge a lot more then the United States Postal Service! So the concept that this is cost control is completely ridiculous. People will probably want private insurance more and they will just raise their rates!! There is no defense for the way they are going about this. They passed it originally on a Saturday at midnight and now they are busy trying to buy off Senators and Congress men through earmarks and grants for this district; (this was the no earmark congress also!) I am seriously disappointed in every liberal I know for not being absolutely outraged at the way Congress, the White House, and the Senate are handling this whole thing. You all pride yourselves on being the party of the people, and being open and honest and this whole thing is anything but! If it was what they say it is; they wouldn’t be hiding every step of the way! And it doesn’t make anything any better; it’s exactly what Obama swore he wouldn’t push through, it’s a temporary fix, (for the uninsured). It creates a massive buereacracy to be involved in our healthcare; what’s liberal about that?? nothing? Like I said before find adequate budget cuts and pay for it that way, but there aren’t enough rich people in anyone’s imagination that will be taxed to pay for this whole thing. If this passes and becomes law and you don’t think it will be a complete disaster 10 years from now requiring further legislation, costing trillions more dollars you are out of your mind. Getting a job that has healthcare, is not that simple, but it is simple enough. If you are a responsible person who so much as passed a GED test there a countless jobs available to you with healthcare……You’re right about the poor babies, no one helps them or talks about them. Especially the government systems that claim 2! That’s the other thing about the whole healthcare thing. You’re going to give DC more money and count on them too get it to and provide the quality health care those 30 million people need? ha, the whole concept of it is funny, they can’t do anything right! I’m holding you too that you won’t cry about the new taxes. I’m sure when everyone who is for this goes to their accountant next year they will say, “make sure the percentage you get me back isn’t more then the health care tax. That money is for the previously uninsured so please no more deductions.” Anyone who doesn’t say that is a hypocrite. At least as a republican I admit I don’t wan to pay for it; all the bleeding hearts I know lecture me constantly about how people need help, then when it comes down to it they help no one and keep as much as they can. So spare me about wanting to help people; Do they really need to pass a law for people to help the less fortunate? There’s 100′s of things people can do to help the less fortunate. I’m not going to talk about this anymore and I apologize for going on but as you can see I feel very very strongly about this so maybe it’s better if we just discuss it in person…But I ask you do some more research on your own and think about it a little more and maybe you will see how incredibly horrible this bill is and how incredibly dishonest congressional and Senate leaders are being……Tavares just scored; it’s about time!

Yes Joe – FedEx and UPS cost way more than the Postal Service and so would private healthcare vs. a public option . . . so? That’s the point . . . like i said – if you can afford Fedex – then go ahead and assure yourself a ‘better’ service . . . but if you can’t afford it . . . . . You see where I’m going with this.

well listen – I agree – if we feel the need to talk about it in person we shall, no need to carry it on any further here, but it’s very clear and evident how important this is to you and I can totally respect that. You say you hold me to my word about those taxes? And I say go ahead lol, I’ve got no problem with that . . . I’ll promise you this much . . . I will do the proper research . . . and I’m not just saying that . . . I feel I actually stand for things that this specific bill doesn’t serve, which upsets me . . . that’s why I haven’t been up in arms in its favor . . . but I haven’t been up in arms against it in hope that it does give people healthcare . . .

I’m a simple man, Joe lol . . . if there were a public option that perhaps was paid by higher taxes on my end . . . so be it. I know, damn well, for many reasons, that’s where we differ. I’m looking at all of this in a very general (slash) fundamental way. I actually HATE politics and MOST politicians – it’s not my field of choice . . . my field of choice is one filled with Strawberries. I love strawberries.

P.S. I only saw Okposo’s goal. I missed the game due to a local “block party” meeting with my neighbors lol. I’ve never feld so subrban. I’m tired of watching them lose. It’s depressing. Can’t wait for the Mets to start playing (slash) losing and I can get tired of watching them come June lol. I guess I need to make better political AND sports choices!!!! hahahaha

My blog is almost done (tear!)

  5. Joe says:

If there were a public option for the uninsured that were paid for by higher taxes on my end I wouldn’t be all giddy about but I could accept it…..this isn’t only taxing me and you, it’s reducing our quality of care and putting Buearacracy in the way of us and our Doctors! That’s the part that makes me so mad!……Come over tonight, lots of good games on.

yeah I know – hey, honestly – nowhere have I written/said anything in favor of THIS bill – - – I don’t even know what to think anymore and unfortunately, it makes me want to STOP thinking hahaha

I’ll be around there for sure tomorrow! Working is great, it makes sleeping feel so much better, and that’s what I’m off to do . . . .
