Woman Charged With Adultery After Public Sex

I never knew you could be legally charged with adultery, but after reading this article on AOL, I now I have one more useless bit of information lodged in my head (as well as yet another reason not to cheat!).

For only the 13th time in nearly 40 years (note:  that’s 13 more times than the Maple Leafs have won a championship in the same time span . . . interesting, and funny to me) a citizen of the State of New York has been charged with adultery.  What does that mean to you?  Well, if you’re a cheater . . . then . . . well chances are you won’t get charged with adultery lol – don’t sweat it – I’m sure you’re fine (a moral-less lil bugger, but still safe from facing charges) . . . unless, of course, you decide to meet your lover on a picnic table in the local public park at 5pm . . . well, then – my friend – you should watch out!

Woman Sues Phone Company For Exposing Affair

A Canadian woman (that’s right, leave it to those frisky Canucks!) who was cheating on her husband is suing Rogers Wireless for $600,000 (Yes, they use a real currency up there . . . don’t try to pay in maple leaves – it only agitates the merchants) for invasion of privacy and breach of contract.

This Sex-Crazed-Canadian (this just in – I’m being sued for slander) is pissed because Rogers Wireless lumped her personal cellphone bill with the cellphone bill shared with her husband (those bastards!).  The husband eventually noticed long phone calls to a certain number, called it, and BOOM!  He caught his wife without even having to go on Cheaters!  You can read about it all in this article AOL News article, which contains this quote:

“I want others to know what a big corporation has done.  I trusted Rogers with my personal information. We had a contract — an agreement that put my life right in their hands.”

And you had a freken agreement with your husband to have and to hold until the day you freken die!  He trusted you!  You were supposed to trust each other!  If he can’t trust you, then why should you trust your phone company!?  What the hell is wrong with you!?!?

Oh, yeah, the phone company is the one that is in the wrong here . . . YOU have been wronged . . . YOU are the victim . . . now, I don’t know how your marriage with your husband was – it could’ve sucked – but since nothing in the article said he beat you then I’m going to assume that you are just stupid (oh yeah, the whole suing the phone company helps me come to that conclusion as well) and are terribly bitter that you got caught.  That’s all.  Case closed.  And since I’m already assuming, I’m going to assume that since you’re from Toronto (according to this Vancouver Sun article) you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan . . . well then . . . now the case is really closed.  That explains it all.

Bottom Line: Toronto Maple Leaf fans have no morals, and will sue at the drop of a puck.

Remember The Coward: Tie Domi

I watched the Devils score 3 late goals last night to welcome in Ilya Kovalchuk and stun the hapless Toronto Maple Leafs (keep trading away Toronto, it will never make a difference!) and I ended up speaking to a native New Jerseyan this morning (Nicholas) about all things Devils.  We reminisced about Scott Stevens, and it instantly made me think of something.  The Devils played the Leafs last night . . . Stevens was brought up this morning . . . ahh . . . my memory took me back to the 2001 Stanley Cup Playoffs when Tie Domi was a member of one of the dirtiest NHL teams – in fact – Domi should’ve been captain of that team just to symbolize how dirty they actually were.  Here’s the clip:

The Maple Leafs Blow. The Habs Suck. And the Islanders are the Islanders. Enough Said.

New York Rangers v Toronto Maple Leafs

"How's my helmet?"

This post is inspired by Chris Botta’s comments in one of his Islanderspointblank.com posts, where he asks Islander fans,  ” . . . can we stop using their [Toronto Maple Leafs] misery as consolation for the Islanders?”

Why?  Why must we stop taking solace in the Maple Leafs’ misery?  Hey, the Islanders have no right to make fun of any other organization.  If Wayne Gretzky called the New Jersey Devils a “Mickey Mouse Organization” in the ’80′s, then what would the Islanders of the mid-late-’90′s and all the other years up until and through this year (holy crap that’s a long time!) be called!?  I mean, at this point, any reference to Disney might be too much of a compliment!  But that doesn’t take away the Islanders’ fans right to make fun of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who by the way, haven’t won a Stanley Cup since 1967.  In fact, if anyone has a right to make fun of the Maple Leafs, and dare I say the Montreal Canadiens (the team that beat the Isles way back in 1993 to eventually win the cup – which gives them a bit more leverage in my argument than the Leafs have) it is the fans of the struggling New York Islanders.  Let me explain why:

Have You Heard? HOCKEY’S BACK! The ’09-’10 NHL Season Kicks Into Gear Tonight!

Washington Capitals v New York Rangers

There are 4 games to kick off the new season tonight: Vancouver vs. Calgary, San Jose vs. Colorodo, Montreal vs. Toronto, and the one I’ll be watching:  Washington vs. Boston.  There are some good story-lines tonight:  Joe Sakic’s number will be retired in Denver, Mike Komisarek gets to face his old team in what is always a heated battle between the Leafs and Canadiens, and of course there is the Capitals/Bruins game.  Yes, this is the only game I can watch because it’s being covered by Versus, but I would have chosen this game anyway – and I’ll give you 4 quick reasons:  Alexander Ovechkin, Alexander Semin, Zedeno Chara, and Milan Lucic.  Oh – interesting throw in at the end there, eh!?  Did you think I would say Marc Savard, or Tim Thomas?  Well, look – I know what Savard and Thomas can do – they don’t need to prove anything to me (because most players start their morning skates wondering how they can prove themselves to Tom, of tomunfiltered.com – it’s true)  but I’m looking forward to seeing Milan Lucic in action simply because I miss “old-time hockey” – I know that’s a term that gets blindly thrown around, but it’s true – this league has become too soft.  Perhaps it’s due to the instigator rule, or the crackdown on obstruction penalties leading to the near extinction of enforcers, but I miss the days when players could be held accountable by other players, and not the hapless Colin Campbell.  Milan Lucic appears to be a “throwback” type guy who can do a little of it all – hit – beat people up mercifully – and chip in a good amount of goals and assists to boot, but he needs to prove he can do it consistently and take the next step in his development as a “Cam Neely Type Player” (can’t be easy dealing with that comparison!).

Maple Leafs Will Be Tough – But What About The Islanders?

Pittsburgh Penguins v New York Rangers

I never cared much for the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 90′s.  Besides being somewhat of a Felix Potvin fan, I sort of “nothinged” the Leafs – I didn’t like them, I didn’t hate them.  Of course, as any Islander fan would know, the classic 2001-2002 playoff series changed that feeling of “nothingness” in a hurry.  During one of the most physical series I can remember (not just from an Islanders standpoint, since I don’t have many playoff series to go by!) in my 17 years (or so) of being a fan, fans were treated to explosive Steve Webb hits, Eric Cairns’ fists of fury, and the whole Darcy Tucker and Michael Peca fiasco (still infuriates me to this day!).  It was a heated series filled with hatred and physical play on every shift – the way hockey SHOULD be played!
